The Energy Bill revolution begins

The recycling of carbon revenues could enhance these policies, potentially bringing nine out of ten households out of fuel poverty. Alternatively, it could halve the numbers of homes in fuel poverty and fuel poverty proof up to a third of the non-fuel poor homes by bringing them up to current new build standards. Camco Advisory Services' projections suggest that on average the Government will raise £4 billion a year over the next 15 years in carbon revenues from the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and the Carbon Price Floor mechanism.

The Energy Bill Revolution Report was commissioned by Transform UK, the Co-operative Group and Consumer Focus.
