Overall Role Purpose

You will undertake a two-year project-based training programme giving you exposure to:

Over this period, you will also be supported in your career development (i.e. to work towards professional engineer or chartered engineer status) and the potential to progress through to consultancy level within a short time-frame.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Project Management

- To deliver required project inputs according to time, quality and budget requirements. In time, you will take responsibility for project work streams and small-scale consulting projects.

2. Technical input

- Provide technical input to projects.

- Contribute to the delivery of energy and water consumption reduction audits at a wide range of sites, with a specific focus on manufacturing sites within the food and beverage sector

- Work with sites to develop metering and data collection solutions that are supported by Verco’s proprietary Carbon Desktop Software.

- Provide high quality insightful data analysis which supports the ongoing energy management challenges faced by our clients.

3. Business development and proposal writing

- Assist proposal creation through the collation of required information and to provide support to managers and directors in order to achieve individual and sales targets.

4. Client management

- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients through professional interactions.

5. Operational

- Provide timely responses to operational needs including time-sheeting, invoicing, reviews, project management information, health & safety, etc.

Responsibilities

1. Project Management: Manage relatively simple energy and water reduction projects or work streams within large programmes concurrently ensuring the successful delivery to the client on time, to quality and within an agreed budget. 

2. Technical input

  a. To provide technical input to projects.

  b.  To contribute to the delivery of energy and water reduction audits at manufacturing sites with particular focus in the food and drink sector. 

  c.  To work with sites to develop metering and data collection solutions that are supported by Verco’s proprietary Carbon Desktop Software.

3. Business development and proposal writing: Become first point of contact with a number of sites and be responsive to their needs and identify areas where Verco’s wider service offerings may be appropriate. Support more senior members of the team in targeted business development activities such as writing proposals and/or delivering technical webinars

4. Client management: To maintain strong relationships with existing clients with the expectation of maintaining and, where possible, increasing revenues from key accounts.

5. Operational: To provide timely responses to operational needs including (but not limited to) time-sheeting, invoicing, reviews, project management information, health & safety etc.

Requirements

You will need a degree in Engineering (2:1 or above) with a good understanding of energy use in industry.  You will have project management and energy management experience as well as experience of working in a commercial environment.  You will require a high level of competence in the use of IT, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and be a strong communicator in both verbal and written formats.  An understanding of Microsoft Power Bi would be beneficial.  You will be required to travel nationally and internationally to implement company projects.
