The Opportunity

As Junior Consultant in Deliver for Zero Real Estate, you’ll provide excellent technical resource to projects and business development activities, supporting the delivery of a range of complex projects across the business and working with some of the UK’s leading Real Estate sustainability teams. 

You’ll be directly contributing to the delivery of our Building energy management consultancy services to Verco’s Real Estate clients.  This will include visiting buildings from client portfolios, providing optimisation advice, and completing onsite energy audits, group programme support and the development of net zero carbon strategies for clients’ assets.

Primary Responsibilities

    Project Management: To deliver required project inputs according to time, quality and budget requirements. In time, you will take responsibility for project work streams and small-scale consulting projects.

    Technical input: Provide technical input to projects.

    • Work with clients using Verco’s in-house energy management software and other third party systems to provide remote analytical support reviewing energy consumption trends, identifying unexpected usage and suggesting potential causes/solutions.
    • Provide high quality insightful data analysis which supports the ongoing energy management challenges faced by our clients.

    Business development and proposal writing: Assist proposal creation through the collation of required information and to provide support to managers to achieve individual and sales targets.

    Client management: Maintain strong relationships with existing clients through professional interactions.

    Operational: Provide timely responses to operational needs including time-sheeting, invoicing, reviews, project management information, health & safety, etc. 

    Environmental: Contribute to Verco’s sustainability plans and outcomes as required.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • A passion for sustainability & a desire to support others in reducing their environmental impact. 
  • Minimum 2:1 Masters in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical Engineering preferred) or other relevant post-graduate qualification in Engineering, Physics, sustainability/Energy
  • Understanding of energy use in buildings, energy balances, HVAC systems (basic understanding)
  • High level competence in the use of IT, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong communicator (verbal & written)
  • Proactive and inquisitive approach
  • Willingness to travel nationally/internationally 

Desirable:

  • Project management / implementation
  • Building services/energy management
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification in Sustainability/Energy related to buildings
  • IES experience
  • Energy & water reduction audits
  • Renewable energy technology design & implementation
  • Metering, Monitoring & Targeting
  • Energy consumption of HVAC systems
  • Heat Recovery Systems
  • Building management systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
