Celebrating Pride Month 2025

Pride Month is a time to honour the LGBTQIA+ community, reflect on progress, and reaffirm our commitment to creating a workplace where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued.

Within society and the general workplace, inequalities continue to exist, which is why a focus on equality, diversity and inclusion is so important. This month, and throughout the year, we want to acknowledge the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, celebrate their achievements, and find ways of supporting and including them.

Celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community at Verco

Our Impact & Inclusion team has put together a calendar of activities to communicate the importance of Pride. Between now and the end of the year, we’ll be:

  • Recognising the significant contributions members of the LGBTQIA+ community have made to our society via weekly articles in our internal newsletter. Committing to learning more about the history of Pride, the Pride flag and the importance of allyship.
  • Decorating our offices with Pride flags and rainbow decor, and hosting Pride-themed rainbow buffets. Wearing rainbow lanyards on our office days.

  • Partnering with our parent company, BIP, to support (and, for some, take part in) a 10k race during September to raise money for the Micro Rainbow International Foundation. This charity works globally to help LGBTQIA+ people achieve their full potential in life.

  • Looking ahead towards Disability Pride in July and raising awareness through internal communications.

Helen Reed, Verco’s Director of People and Wellbeing, said: “Pride is a celebration, but also a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality. Allies play a crucial role in supporting this and helping to build a world where everyone can live authentically, safely, and with pride. Allyship is ongoing and can take many forms, and it evolves as we learn and grow. We want to build on the momentum of the last four weeks and look for new activities and knowledge shares to run.”
