Woodland conservation day in Bath

On Thursday 5th September, our Overmoor office donated a day of time to help maintain the 24-acre community woodland on the western edge of Bath.

Primrose Hill Community Woodland is maintained and enhanced by Primrose Hill Community Woodland Trust. The trust bought the woodland in 2012 and has been maintaining and enhancing it ever since. The Trust works with others in the community including ‘Grow Yourself’, a local Community Interest Company which offers unemployed 18-25 year olds the opportunity to work in the community.

We worked in this woodland last year and were keen to get back to help preserve this beautiful spot which is home to a great variety of insects, birds and animals as well as the many varieties of trees and other plants.

Verco staff put in a great team effort to clear large branches that had been stacked from previous coppicing and thinning in the woodland. We worked together to gather, stack and bind this wood. The wood piles will then be collected and sold- providing valuable funds to further support the woodland.
